NEPSE Losing Streak, Turnover Surges Above Rs 6.44 Billion
The NEPSE Index declined for the fourth consecutive trading session on Tuesday, slipping 1.54 points to 2,733.59, while daily turnover jumped to over Rs 6.44 billion amid increased market activity.

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) continued its downward trend on Tuesday, with the benchmark index falling by 1.54 points to close at 2,733.59.
The market has now declined for four consecutive trading sessions, reflecting continued investor caution despite a significant rise in trading volume and turnover. The Sensitive Index also slipped by 0.29 points, while the Float Index and Sensitive Float Index decreased by 0.12 points and 0.09 points, respectively.
Despite the decline in the benchmark index, market activity strengthened considerably. A total of 12.38 million shares worth Rs 6.44 billion were traded through 63,732 transactions involving 357 listed securities. This marks a notable increase from Monday’s turnover of Rs 4.08 billion.
Sopan Pharmaceuticals and Kalinchowk Hydropower hit the positive circuit limit during the session, emerging as the day's top gainers. Similarly, Saptakoshi Development Bank gained nearly 11 percent, while Upakar Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha rose by more than 7.5 percent.
On the losing side, Crest Micro Life Insurance recorded the highest decline, falling 9.16 percent during the session.
In terms of turnover, the 8-Year Agriculture Bond issued by Agricultural Development Bank led the market with transactions worth Rs 570 million. Central Finance followed with nearly Rs 360 million in turnover, while the 10.25% NBBL Debenture 2085 recorded transactions exceeding Rs 310 million.
Among the 13 sectoral indices, four sectors closed in positive territory, including Hotels and Tourism, Hydropower, Manufacturing and Processing, and Others. Meanwhile, nine sectors ended lower, with the Finance sector posting the biggest decline of 1.01 percent.
