New Building of Kathmandu Institute of Child Health Handed Over, Constructed at Cost of Rs 710 Million
The newly constructed western building of the Kathmandu Institute of Child Health (KIOCH) was officially handed over to management on Saturday.

The newly constructed western building of the Kathmandu Institute of Child Health was officially handed over to the hospital management during a special ceremony held on Saturday.
The inauguration ceremony took place at Hepali Heights, Budhanilkantha–7, where Jagatguru Shankaracharya Shri Bidhushekhar Bharati formally inaugurated the building. The facility was completed at an estimated cost of Rs 710 million under the initiative of businessman Min Bahadur Gurung.
Contributions from Sabitri Gurung, Pahalman Gurung, and Sarala Gurung were also acknowledged during the program. Representatives of Bhat-Bhateni Supermarket stated that a total of Rs 710.44 million had been spent on the construction project.
Speaking at the event, former Chief Justice Sushila Karki expressed confidence that the hospital would help ensure accessible healthcare services for children and economically disadvantaged communities.
Hospital Chairperson and senior cardiologist Bhagawan Koirala stated that the nonprofit institution aims to provide specialized pediatric healthcare services in Nepal.
Businessman Min Bahadur Gurung said the hospital was established with the objective of providing affordable and quality healthcare services to all citizens.
KIOCH operates as a nonprofit organization affiliated with the Social Welfare Council and plans to expand its pediatric hospital network across all seven provinces of Nepal in the coming years.
