Sudhan Gurung Set to Return as Home Minister After Clearance from Investigation Committee
Rastriya Swatantra Party lawmaker Sudhan Gurung is set to be reappointed as Nepal’s Home Minister after an investigation committee cleared him of allegations related to his assets and investments.

Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) lawmaker Sudhan Gurung is set to return as Nepal's Home Minister for a second term.
Prime Minister Balendra Shah has decided to reappoint Gurung to the post following the completion of an investigation into allegations concerning his assets and investments.
According to the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Gurung's oath-taking ceremony will be held at 3:00 PM today at the President’s Office, Shital Niwas.
Gurung had resigned from the position of Home Minister on Baisakh 9 amid controversy surrounding his property holdings and investment-related matters. Following his resignation, a committee was formed to conduct an independent investigation into the allegations.
The investigation committee recently submitted its report, concluding that no irregularities or unusual findings were identified in Gurung’s assets. Based on the committee’s findings, the government has decided to reappoint him to the Home Ministry.
His return is expected to bring continuity to the ministry's ongoing policies and administrative reforms initiated during his previous tenure.
The reappointment also marks a significant political development for the Rastriya Swatantra Party, which has maintained that Gurung had acted responsibly by stepping down to allow an impartial investigation.
