ADB Provides $5 Million Flood Relief Grant

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has signed a $5 million grant agreement with Nepal’s Ministry of Finance to support emergency relief and initial restoration efforts following severe floods in Rasuwa, Nuwakot and Dhading.

The grant will support immediate relief measures and the initial restoration of infrastructure and services affected by the floods.

The funding comes as the three districts continue to deal with the impact of severe flooding, which has disrupted local communities and damaged essential infrastructure.

The agreement between ADB and the Ministry of Finance provides additional financial resources for Nepal’s ongoing disaster response and recovery efforts.

The grant is focused on the immediate phase of the response, helping address urgent needs while supporting the initial restoration of areas affected by the floods.

The assistance also highlights the role of development partners in supporting Nepal’s recovery following major natural disasters.
