Bagmati Province Declares Public Holiday for Language Day; NEPSE to Remain Open
The Bagmati Provincial Government has announced a public holiday across the province on Baisakh 24 to mark the Official Language Day, while Nepal’s stock market will continue regular operations.
The Bagmati Provincial Government has decided to declare a public holiday across the province on Baisakh 24. The decision was published in the official gazette dated Chaitra 23, 2082.
The holiday is being observed on the occasion of the “Provincial Government Official Language Day,” and will apply to all government offices and institutions within Bagmati Province, according to the ministry.
However, the holiday will not impact the stock market. According to Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) spokesperson Murahari Parajuli, the market only remains closed during public holidays declared by the federal government. Therefore, despite the provincial holiday, NEPSE will remain open for trading.
