Bhatbhateni to Operate Stores 24/7, Night Shift Staff to Receive 25% Extra Pay
Bhatbhateni Supermarket is introducing 24-hour operations, beginning with its Bhaktapur branch as a pilot project.

Bhatbhateni Supermarket has announced plans to operate its stores 24 hours a day, aiming to provide greater convenience to customers and improve operational efficiency.
The initiative will begin on August 12 (Shrawan 27) with the Bhaktapur branch, which has been selected as the pilot location. According to Managing Director Kalyan Gurung, the service will gradually expand to branches in Boudha, Tangal, Koteshwor, Patan, and other locations across the Kathmandu Valley before reaching cities such as Pokhara, Butwal, and Narayanghat.
Currently, Bhatbhateni stores operate from 7:30 AM to 9:00 PM. Under the new model, stores will remain open around the clock, allowing customers to shop at any time. The company also plans to carry out inventory management, shelf arrangement, price tagging, cleaning, and supply operations during nighttime hours to improve daytime shopping experiences.
To support the new operating schedule, Bhatbhateni has formed a dedicated night-shift core team. Employees assigned to the night shift will receive 25% additional salary on top of their regular pay, along with tea and snack facilities as part of the incentive package.
The company believes the initiative will enhance customer convenience while improving store efficiency and service quality through continuous operations.
