Big Movies Upgrades Kathmandu Cinema Hall with 4K Laser Projection and Dolby Atmos Sound

Big Movies has upgraded its cinema hall at City Centre, Kamalpokhari, Kathmandu, introducing advanced projection technology, an immersive Dolby Atmos sound system and premium seating to enhance the movie-going experience.

As part of the renovation, the multiplex has installed a Barco Smart Laser projector featuring 21,000 lumens of brightness and 4K resolution. The advanced projection system is designed to deliver brighter, sharper visuals with a wider colour range for more realistic on-screen images.

64-Channel Dolby Atmos Sound System

The upgraded cinema hall now features a 64-channel Dolby Atmos sound system, designed to provide an immersive audio experience by delivering sound from multiple directions.

The renovation also includes 255 Champion Series theatre seats and 29 Royal Luxuria reclining seats. Additional improvements include new carpeting, acoustic wall coverings and modern lighting to create a more comfortable and enhanced viewing environment.

Focus on Improving the Cinema Experience

Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, Big Movies Chairman Rajendra Aryal said the renovation aims to improve the overall cinema experience through better picture quality, sound and audience comfort.

Big Movies, which introduced the multiplex cinema concept in Nepal around two decades ago, said the latest investment reflects its commitment to adopting evolving technologies and meeting changing audience expectations.
