Birgunj Customs Collects Rs. 23.46 Billion in Revenue in Bhadra
Birgunj Customs collected Rs. 23.46 billion in revenue during Bhadra of FY 2083/84, achieving 99.75% of its monthly target and 14.52% of its annual target by mid-September.
The Birgunj Customs Office collected Rs. 23.46 billion in revenue during Bhadra of the current fiscal year 2083/84, covering the period from August 17 to September 16.
According to the customs office, the collection stood at Rs. 23.46 billion and 15 lakh, equivalent to 99.75% of its monthly revenue target.
Customs Office spokesperson Purna Prasad Lamsal said the office had achieved 14.52% of its annual revenue target by mid-September.
Birgunj is one of Nepal’s major trade gateways, and the customs office’s revenue collection is closely linked to the volume and value of goods imported through the border.
According to the customs office, major imported commodities by value and revenue contribution include biscuits, pulses, textiles and garments, industrial raw materials and food grains.
