Blue Bus Service to Cost Rs 22.68 Million Annually, Daily Operating Cost Around Rs 65,000
The government's planned electric Blue Bus service is estimated to cost Rs 22.68 million

The government is estimated to spend around Rs 22.68 million annually to operate the new electric Blue Bus service. According to Sajha Yatayat's operational plan, each bus will cost approximately Rs 2.835 million per year, translating to an average daily operating cost of about Rs 65,000.
The estimated expenses include electricity charging, maintenance, and salaries for drivers and conductors. In the initial phase, nine electric buses will operate on three routes—Lagankhel–Budhanilkantha, Nagdhunga–Airport, and the Ring Road corridor. The Ministry of Finance has already approved the funding, while the government will also provide the required charging infrastructure, parking facilities, and annual budget for the service.
