Buddhabhumi Nepal Hydropower to Acquire 51% Stake in Two Hydropower Projects with Combined Capacity of 64 MW

Buddhabhumi Nepal Hydropower Company Limited has approved a strategic investment in two hydropower projects with a combined installed capacity of 64 MW, strengthening its presence in Nepal's renewable energy sector.

A meeting of the company's Board of Directors held on Shrawan 5 decided to invest in the 43 MW Upper Neshyam Hydropower Project and the 21 MW Upper Neshyam A Hydropower Project, both promoted by Sindhujwala Hydropower Limited.

Under the decision, Buddhabhumi Nepal Hydropower will acquire a 51% equity stake in both projects, giving the company majority ownership and a controlling interest in their development.

The investment is expected to support the company's long-term strategy of expanding its hydropower portfolio, increasing future revenue streams, and strengthening its position in Nepal's growing energy market.

With electricity demand rising and Nepal continuing to expand hydropower development and cross-border energy trade, the company views the investment as an opportunity to enhance long-term value for its shareholders.
