The Government of Nepal is holding a cabinet meeting today at 10:30 AM to discuss key proposals related to restructuring ministries.

According to the plan, four ministries will be abolished, and six others will undergo renaming or restructuring. Ministries such as Youth and Sports, Drinking Water and Sanitation, Urban Development, and Federal Affairs and General Administration are proposed for removal.

The sports sector is expected to be merged into the Ministry of Education, forming the Ministry of Education and Sports. Similarly, a new Ministry of Gender Equality and Social Development is proposed by combining various social sectors.

Functions related to drinking water and urban development are likely to be integrated into the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure. Some responsibilities may also be brought under the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers.
