Chitwan Hotel Fined Rs 300,000 After Fish Bone Found in Home Minister’s Omelet
The District Administration Office has fined Lords Plaza Hotel in Bharatpur Rs 300,000 after a fish bone was found in an omelet served to Home Minister Sudhan Gurung during his visit to Chitwan.

The District Administration Office has imposed a fine of Rs 300,000 on Lords Plaza Hotel in Bharatpur, Chitwan, following a food safety incident involving Home Minister Sudhan Gurung.
The incident occurred while the minister was in Chitwan to attend the general convention of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP). During a stop at the hotel near Bharatpur Airport, a fish bone was reportedly found in an omelet served to him.
Following the complaint, police briefly detained and questioned two hotel employees as part of the preliminary investigation.
An emergency inspection conducted by a monitoring team led by the Assistant Chief District Officer uncovered multiple violations of the Consumer Protection Act. Authorities reported the use of substandard cooking oil, expired vegetables, and other unhygienic food materials within the hotel premises.
Based on the findings, the hotel was fined Rs 300,000 and ordered to immediately destroy all unsafe food items.
The local administration has since intensified inspections of hotels and restaurants across the area to ensure food safety standards are maintained during ongoing high-profile political events.
