Citizens Bank International Limited has opened a new branch in Battar, Nuwakot, following the complete destruction of its Devighat branch by a devastating flood in the Bhotekoshi River.

The new branch is located in Battar-2 of Bidur Municipality, approximately seven kilometres from the former Devighat branch, according to the bank.

The branch was inaugurated by the bank’s Chief Executive Officer, Ganesh Raj Pokharel, at a programme held in Battar. Speaking at the event, Pokharel said the new branch was established to ensure convenient and quality banking services for local customers after the Devighat branch was completely damaged. He also appreciated the employees who successfully resumed branch operations despite the difficult circumstances.

The flood that occurred on Bhadra 10 caused extensive damage to the Devighat branch. However, all employees working there remained safe.

Through the new branch, the bank plans to provide a full range of retail banking services to individual and business customers. It also aims to expand access to financial services for both small and large businesses.
