The Department of Commerce, Supplies and Consumer Protection (DoCSCP) has fined Raj Shree Khadya Store, located in Kharibot, Banasthali, Nagarjun-2, Rs 5,000 for failing to maintain required purchase invoices during a market inspection.

According to the department, the action was taken under the Consumer Protection Act, 2018 (2075 BS) after inspectors found that the store had not properly maintained bill and invoice records as required by law.

The department conducted inspections of eight business establishments during its regular market monitoring campaign.

Among them, one business was fined, while the remaining seven firms received corrective instructions to comply with consumer protection laws, maintain proper documentation, and improve business practices.

The department said its regular inspections are conducted in the presence of consumer rights representatives to promote transparency in the marketplace and protect consumer interests.

Officials added that market monitoring will continue regularly, and businesses found violating consumer protection regulations will face legal action in accordance with existing laws.
