Corruption Case Filed Against Chabahil Survey Office Official Over Bribery Allegations

The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a corruption case against Topjung Khatri, a survey official (Amin) working at the Chabahil Survey Office's Gokarna (Makalbari) Survey Team.

According to the CIAA, Khatri allegedly accepted a Rs. 160,000 bribe from a service seeker in exchange for facilitating the preparation of a land ownership registration certificate (Lalpurja) following land record updates.

The case has been filed before the Special Court after the anti-graft body concluded that sufficient evidence existed to support the bribery allegations.

The CIAA had arrested Khatri on Asar 2 while he was allegedly receiving the bribe. The investigation found that he had abused his official position by demanding and accepting illegal payments from a service recipient.

The anti-corruption agency stated that it will continue taking legal action against corruption and abuse of public office to strengthen transparency and accountability in public services.
