Nepal’s Customs Department has collected Rs. 102 billion in revenue by Ashoj 6 of the current fiscal year 2083/84.

The government has set an annual revenue collection target of Rs. 628 billion for the Customs Department. Following the collection of Rs. 102 billion by Ashoj 6, the department has Rs. 527 billion remaining to meet the annual target.

The Ministry of Finance said the revenue collection was achieved despite the Tatopani Customs Office remaining out of operation for some time and the Rasuwagadhi Customs Office being severely damaged by flooding in the Bhotekoshi River.

Despite the challenging circumstances, customs administration has made progress in revenue collection, according to the ministry. The department is now expected to focus on collecting the remaining Rs. 527 billion during the rest of the fiscal year
