The Nepal Panchanga Nirnayak Bikash Samiti has fixed 10:26 AM on Kartik 4 as the most auspicious time for receiving Dashain tika and jamara on Vijaya Dashami.

The Nepal Panchanga Nirnayak Bikash Samiti has announced the official auspicious timings for the major rituals of Bada Dashain. The festival will begin with Ghatasthapana on Sunday, Ashwin 25, at 11:47 AM, which is considered an auspicious time for sowing barley seeds (jamara) and establishing the sacred kalash.
The religious procession of Fulpati will be observed on Saturday, Ashwin 31, followed by Maha Ashtami on Sunday, Kartik 1, and Maha Navami on Tuesday, Kartik 3.
The main celebration will conclude with Vijaya Dashami on Tuesday, Kartik 4. On this day, families traditionally gather at the homes of elders to receive tika and jamara along with blessings.
According to the committee, the most auspicious time for receiving Dashain tika is 10:26 AM on Kartik 4. The timing has been set after the ritual immersion of Goddess Durga, known as Devi Bisharjan.
Traditionally, people receiving tika are advised to face west during the ceremony. Although tika and blessings can be received throughout the entire day of Vijaya Dashami, 10:26 AM has been designated as the most auspicious time for those following the officially determined timing.
