Devotees Crowd Pashupatinath Temple on First Monday of Shrawan

Thousands of devotees flocked to Pashupatinath Temple and Shiva temples across Nepal from the early hours of Monday, marking the first Monday of the holy month of Shrawan. The Pashupati Area Development Trust opened all four temple gates at 3:00 a.m., allowing worshippers to offer prayers despite continuous monsoon rainfall.

Authorities have arranged dedicated queues, security personnel, medical assistance, and crowd management measures to ensure a safe and smooth pilgrimage. Special worship is scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon, while the temple will remain open for devotees until the evening aarti. Large numbers of worshippers were also seen at Gokarneshwor, Doleshwor, Nageshwor, Makkhan Mahadev, and other Shiva temples across the country.
