Education Minister and Chinese Ambassador Hold Talks, China to Support Digital Transformation in Schools
Education Minister Sasmita Pokharel held a courtesy meeting with Chinese Ambassador Chen Mao Ming, where China expressed its willingness to support Nepal in developing digital systems in school education.

Education, Science and Technology Minister Sasmita Pokharel held a courtesy meeting with the Ambassador of China to Nepal, Chen Mao Ming, at the Ministry in Singha Durbar on Monday.
During the meeting, discussions were held on strengthening cooperation between Nepal and China in the fields of education, science and technology, as well as sports development.
The talks mainly focused on improving school infrastructure, introducing digital learning systems, and enhancing institutional development in Nepal’s education sector. Both sides also exchanged views on contemporary issues related to bilateral cooperation.
Minister Pokharel, who also serves as the government spokesperson, emphasized the need to expand partnership with China in upgrading school infrastructure and integrating digital systems into teaching and learning. He also highlighted the importance of timely completion of ongoing education projects and requested continued support for scholarships aligned with the interests of Nepali students.
Chinese Ambassador Chen Mao Ming stated that the Chinese government is willing to further strengthen cooperation and partnership in response to Nepal’s proposals.
The meeting concluded with a mutual understanding to deepen the long-standing Nepal–China relationship and expand collaboration across multiple sectors of mutual interest.
