Energy Minister Shrestha Directs Timely Completion of Jagdulla Hydropower Projects
Energy Minister Biraj Bhakta Shrestha has instructed officials to ensure the timely completion of the Jagdulla hydropower projects currently under construction in Dolpa.

Biraj Bhakta Shrestha has directed concerned authorities to complete the Jagdulla hydropower projects within the scheduled timeframe.
During a monitoring visit to the central office of Jagdulla Hydropower Company Limited, the minister emphasized that there should be no delays in the construction process.
He stated that it was encouraging to see rapid progress in hydropower development in geographically remote regions like Karnali Province. According to him, the projects are expected to improve the living standards of local residents while making a significant contribution to Nepal’s energy sector.
Minister Shrestha also assured that the ministry would immediately address any technical or administrative challenges faced during construction.
“If there are any issues during construction, inform the ministry immediately. We are ready to facilitate solutions, but project progress must not be delayed,” he said.
Currently, two semi-reservoir hydropower projects are under construction in Dolpa district under Jagdulla Hydropower Company Limited — the 106 MW Jagdulla Hydropower Project and the 124.35 MW Jagdulla ‘A’ Hydropower Project.
The inspection program was also attended by Energy Secretary Chiranjibi Chataut.
The government expects these projects to contribute significantly to infrastructure development, economic activity, and energy production in Karnali Province after completion.
