eSewa, Citizens Bank Launch Disability Loan
eSewa and Citizens Bank have launched a digital loan facility offering Persons with Disabilities loans of up to Rs. 200,000 through the eSewa app.
eSewa and Citizens Bank International have launched ‘Swabalamban Karja’, a digital loan facility designed to make formal credit more accessible to Persons with Disabilities.
The facility allows eligible applicants to apply directly through the eSewa app, reducing paperwork and the need for repeated physical visits to a bank.
Loans ranging from Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 200,000 are available at an annual interest rate of 9.99%, with a 0.75% processing fee. Final loan approval will depend on the bank’s assessment and applicable lending terms.
Applicants must have a KYC-verified eSewa account, a disability identity card issued by the Government of Nepal, at least six months of eSewa usage history, and a regular income from employment or business.
The facility was launched at an event in Kathmandu attended by representatives from eSewa, Citizens Bank, the National Federation of the Disabled Nepal, development partners, Persons with Disabilities and the media.
