Finance Minister Wagle Directs Legal Measures for Capital Market Reform
Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle has directed officials from NRB and SEBON to propose legal measures to strengthen and modernize Nepal’s capital market.

Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle has directed officials to identify and propose necessary legal measures for the development and reform of Nepal’s capital market.
Wagle gave the direction during a meeting held at the Ministry of Finance on Monday with senior officials from Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) and the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON).
The meeting was attended by NRB Governor Dr. Biswo Nath Poudel, SEBON Chairman Dr. Gopal Bhatta, NRB Deputy Governor Kiran Pandit, and SEBON Deputy Executive Director Narayan Sharma Poudel.
The discussion focused on measures required to improve Nepal’s capital market and establish a stronger legal and regulatory framework for its development.
Wagle instructed officials to identify the legal provisions required to strengthen and modernize the market and present the necessary proposals.
