First Microfinance Posts 73.64% Profit Growth as NPL Falls to 2.88%

First Microfinance Laghubitta has reported a strong financial performance for the fiscal year 2082/83, with its net profit increasing by 73.64% year-on-year.

According to the company's unaudited financial statements, net profit reached Rs. 190.7 million, compared to approximately Rs. 109.8 million in the previous fiscal year.

The institution's distributable profit stood at Rs. 136.1 million, while distributable earnings per share reached Rs. 10.13.

Asset quality also improved during the review period. The non-performing loan (NPL) ratio declined to 2.88% from 3.84% a year earlier. Likewise, the cost of funds decreased to 4.75%, indicating lower funding costs and improved operational efficiency.

The improved profitability and declining bad loans reflect stronger financial health and enhanced credit risk management by the microfinance institution.
