Flood Damage Shuts Down 6 MW Relekhola Hydropower Project

The 6 MW Relekhola Hydropower Project in Narachyang, Annapurna Rural Municipality-4 of Myagdi, has suspended electricity generation after flooding damaged its intake structure. The project has remained offline since Asar 28, resulting in production losses and financial impacts.

According to Project Chief Darshanik Kafle, landslides have also blocked the access road to the intake site, making repair work difficult. The project, which was completed last year, is connected to the national grid through the Dana Substation. Restoration work will begin once road access is reopened and the damaged infrastructure can be repaired.
