A suspension bridge connecting Dodhara Chandani and Bhimdatta in Kanchanpur has been damaged by flooding in the Mahakali River.

The incident occurred at around 8 a.m. on Wednesday after a pillar located in the middle of the river collapsed due to the strong flood current, causing a large section of the bridge to fall into the river.

According to police, the sixth pillar from the Bhimdatta Municipality-13 side and the third pillar from the Dodhara Chandani side collapsed.

The affected section of the bridge has been completely damaged, police said.
