Four Candidates Shortlisted for SEBON Chairperson Position

The selection process for the new chairperson of Nepal Securities Board has entered its final phase. The recommendation committee formed under Section 7(3) of the Securities Act, 2063, under the Ministry of Finance, has shortlisted four candidates out of 47 applicants.

The committee had requested personal details from interested candidates on 15th Baisakh 2083. Following the evaluation of all applications received within the deadline, Dr. Navaraj Adhikari, Binaydev Acharya, Mukunda Kumar Kshetri, and Dr. Gopal Prasad Bhatt were selected for the final shortlist.

Among the shortlisted candidates, two are former executive directors of Nepal Rastra Bank, while the other two previously served as executive directors at Nepal Securities Board. Bhatt and Kshetri are also associated with the Nepal Rastra Bank cadre.

The shortlisted candidates are scheduled to attend discussions at the Ministry of Finance on Friday, Jestha 8, 2083. According to the committee, discussions with Dr. Navaraj Adhikari will begin at 1:00 PM, followed by Binaydev Acharya at 1:30 PM, Mukunda Kumar Kshetri at 2:00 PM, and Dr. Gopal Prasad Bhatt at 2:30 PM.

Investors and capital market stakeholders are closely watching the appointment process, expecting the new leadership to strengthen capital market reforms, policy stability, and investor confidence in Nepal’s securities market.
