Fuel Prices Hiked Again in Nepal, Petrol Reaches Rs. 219 per Liter

Nepal Oil Corporation has once again increased the prices of petroleum products, citing fluctuations in the international market.

As per the decision of the corporation’s board, the new prices came into effect from midnight Thursday. Petrol prices have been increased by Rs. 17 per liter, while diesel and kerosene have gone up by Rs. 25 per liter each.

Similarly, the price of LPG has been raised by Rs. 100 per cylinder, and domestic aviation fuel has increased by Rs. 6 per liter.

With the new adjustment, petrol now costs Rs. 219 per liter in Kathmandu Valley, while diesel and kerosene are priced at Rs. 207 per liter. LPG is now Rs. 2,010 per cylinder, and domestic aviation fuel stands at Rs. 257 per liter.

Despite a 50% reduction in customs duty and infrastructure development tax, the corporation stated that it continues to incur heavy losses. Even after the price hike, it estimates a biweekly loss of around Rs. 7.81 billion.
