Global IME Bank Limited has introduced a new digital banking service in collaboration with the Nagarik App, enabling eligible Nepali citizens to open a personal savings account online.

According to the bank, users registered on the Nagarik App with a valid National ID card can initiate the account opening process by scanning the QR code available on the bank's website. Applicants can then complete the required details digitally using their verified National ID information.

The bank stated that customer information will be securely retrieved from the Nagarik App, eliminating the need to repeatedly enter personal details while enhancing data privacy and security.

To activate the account, customers must complete verification either by visiting the nearest Global IME Bank branch or through the bank's Video KYC service.

The bank said the initiative aims to expand secure, convenient, and reliable digital banking services by leveraging Nepal's government-backed digital infrastructure.
