Global IME Bank Pledges Rs50 Million for Flood Relief

Global IME Bank has announced Rs50 million in financial support to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund to assist people affected by the devastating Bhotekoshi River flood.

The contribution is aimed at supporting search and rescue, immediate relief and long-term recovery efforts in areas affected by the disaster.

The Bhotekoshi River flood has caused significant loss of life and property across riverbank areas of Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, Gorkha and Chitwan. The disaster has left people dead, missing and displaced, while damaging homes and infrastructure.

According to Global IME Bank, the financial support will help provide essential assistance including food, shelter and medical care to affected communities. The contribution will also support efforts to rebuild damaged infrastructure and assist in longer-term recovery.

The bank said the contribution is part of its ongoing corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts and its commitment to supporting communities during major disasters in Nepal.

Global IME Bank has previously provided financial and other forms of assistance during major natural disasters, according to the bank.

The latest contribution comes as government agencies and other organizations continue rescue, relief and recovery operations in areas affected by the Bhotekoshi River flood.
