Gold Drops Rs 5,200 per Tola, Silver Falls Rs 250 in Nepal

Gold and silver prices declined significantly in the Nepali market on Thursday, providing some relief to buyers after recent record-high levels.

According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers' Association, the price of hallmark gold fell by Rs 5,200 per tola to Rs 278,300. A day earlier, gold was trading at Rs 283,500 per tola. Silver also recorded a notable decline, dropping by Rs 250 per tola to Rs 4,235.

The latest fall follows a series of fluctuations in both domestic and international bullion markets. Internationally, gold and silver prices have come under pressure due to a stronger U.S. dollar and expectations of tighter monetary policy, reducing investor demand for precious metals.

Despite the recent correction, gold prices in Nepal remain historically elevated compared to levels seen earlier in the year. Market participants are closely monitoring global economic developments, interest-rate expectations, and geopolitical events that could influence future price movements.
