Gold Hits Record High, Silver Breaks New Price Barrier in Nepal
Gold prices in Nepal surged to a record NPR 217,100 per tola, while silver hit NPR 2,620 per tola, surpassing its previous high.

Gold prices in Nepal soared on Sunday, Ashwin 5, reaching an all-time high of NPR 217,100 per tola, matching the record set on Bhadra 31. According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association, the price jumped NPR 1,100 per tola compared to Friday, when bullion closed at NPR 216,000.
Silver also rallied sharply, climbing NPR 40 per tola to NPR 2,620 — its highest-ever level. The metal broke its previous record of NPR 2,595 set earlier, underscoring strong momentum in the precious metals market.
The surge reflects global price movements as investors continue to seek safe-haven assets amid political and economic uncertainty. Nepal’s bullion market often mirrors international trends, adjusted for local demand and import costs.
