The government has decided to deploy a mechanical crane to Karnali Province to address frequent power outages caused by line tripping and improve the efficiency of maintenance work. The decision was made following the initiative of Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Biraj Bhakta Shrestha after identifying the shortage of specialized repair equipment during a recent field inspection.

According to the ministry, the crane currently stationed at the Nepal Electricity Authority's Transformer Workshop in Kharipati will be sent to Karnali after completing the required servicing and administrative procedures. Officials believe the move will eliminate delays caused by transporting equipment from other provinces, enabling faster restoration of electricity services and improving the reliability of power supply across the region.
