Heavy Rainfall Likely in Several Parts of Nepal Today, Weather Office Urges Caution

Monsoon conditions continue to affect Nepal, bringing the possibility of widespread rainfall across much of the country today. According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM), heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely in isolated areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, prompting authorities to advise the public to remain cautious.

The department forecasts generally to completely cloudy skies nationwide. Many hilly areas, along with several Terai regions of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, are expected to experience moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning. Parts of Madhesh, Koshi, Lumbini, and Sudurpashchim provinces may also receive moderate rainfall.

Heavy rainfall is also likely in some hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, while higher Himalayan regions could witness moderate rainfall or snowfall.

Rainfall activity is expected to continue during the night as well. According to the department, the monsoon trough remains slightly north of its normal position near Nepal's southern plains, keeping monsoon activity active across the country.
