Hetauda Cement Industry has stopped its production from today morning, citing a shortage of coal supply. The industry stated that the disruption has forced a temporary shutdown of operations.

The plant had resumed regular production only about a month ago. However, the sudden shortage of coal has once again affected its production cycle.

According to Assistant Manager Bikash Shrestha, the industry has already called for tenders to purchase around 3,000 metric tons of coal. He added that the supply is expected to arrive within two weeks.

Shrestha further stated that the resumption of cement production will depend on the quality test results of the incoming coal, which will determine the production schedule
