House of Representatives Passes Economic Bill 2083 by Majority Vote

Nepal's House of Representatives has approved the Economic Bill 2083 by a majority vote during Friday's parliamentary session, marking another key step in the government's legislative agenda for the new fiscal year.

The proposal to pass the bill was presented by Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle, who urged lawmakers to endorse the legislation. Following discussions, the House approved the bill by a majority vote.

Lawmakers Hariprasad Bhusal and Sushil Khadka withdrew their proposed amendments before the voting process. Meanwhile, amendments registered by Gangalaxmi Awal, Dr. Pushparaj Kandel, Harkraj Rai, Parbati Bik, and Narendra Kumar Kerung were put to a vote but were rejected by the majority of lawmakers.

Following the passage of the Economic Bill, the House proceeded with clause-wise deliberations on the National Debt Raising Bill 2083, which is currently under discussion in Parliament.

The approval of the Economic Bill is expected to facilitate the implementation of the government's fiscal policies and budgetary measures for the upcoming fiscal year.
