Ingwa Hydropower Limited has resumed full electricity generation at its 9.7 MW Upper Ingwa Khola Small Hydropower Project, located along the border of Panchthar and Taplejung districts.

The project had completely halted electricity generation after heavy and continuous rainfall on Jestha 9, 2083 triggered severe flooding and landslides in the area.

The disaster caused significant damage to key project infrastructure, including the intake, pipeline, powerhouse and transmission lines, disrupting power generation from the plant.

Following repair and maintenance works, the company first restored Unit 1 and brought it back into operation on Shrawan 21, 2083.

The remaining Unit 2 has now also been successfully repaired and reconnected to the national grid. According to the company, Unit 2 resumed operation on Bhadra 23, 2083 allowing the project to return to its full generation capacity of 9.7 MW.

The restoration marks the completion of the major repair works required to bring the hydropower project back to full operation following the flood and landslide damage.
