The recommendation committee formed for the appointment of the chairperson of the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) is set to hold separate interviews and discussions with four shortlisted candidates today.

Out of 47 applicants for the position, Dr. Navaraj Adhikari, Binaydev Acharya, Mukunda Kumar Kshetri, and Dr. Gopal Prasad Bhatt have been shortlisted for the final stage of the selection process.

According to the schedule published by the committee, discussions with Dr. Navaraj Adhikari will begin at 1:00 PM, followed by Binaydev Acharya at 1:30 PM, Mukunda Kumar Kshetri at 2:00 PM, and Dr. Gopal Prasad Bhatt at 2:30 PM.

Each candidate will reportedly undergo an interview and interaction session lasting around 30 minutes.

After completing the discussions, the committee will recommend three names to the Council of Ministers. One of the recommended candidates will then be appointed as the new chairperson of SEBON by the Cabinet.

The appointment process is being closely watched by investors and market stakeholders, as the leadership of SEBON plays a crucial role in Nepal’s capital market development and regulation.
