Kalinchowk Darshan Reports Higher Quarterly Loss as Revenue Declines

Kalinchowk Darshan Limited has reported an increase in its net loss for the first quarter of fiscal year 2083/84, according to its unaudited financial statement.

The company recorded a net loss of Rs 45.96 lakh during the review period, compared to Rs 33.86 lakh in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year. The financial statement attributes the worsening performance primarily to the devastating floods in the Bhotekoshi River during this year's monsoon season and their negative impact on tourist arrivals.

Floods Disrupt Tourism and Business Operations

According to the company's management, the floods disrupted road connectivity, reducing the flow of tourists to the area. As a result, the company's cable car services and other business activities could not operate regularly, affecting its overall revenue.

Operating Revenue Declines

The company's operating revenue fell to Rs 42.32 lakh in the review period, compared to Rs 72.87 lakh in the same quarter last year.

Its operating profit also remained negative, with an operating loss of Rs 63.54 lakh during the first quarter.

Key Financial Indicators

Kalinchowk Darshan has a paid-up capital of Rs 63 crore, while its reserves and surplus stood at Rs 5.35 crore.

The company's annualized earnings per share (EPS) stood at negative Rs 2.92. Its net worth per share was Rs 108.50, while total assets value per share stood at Rs 120.56.
