Kulman Ghising Urges Government to Roll Back Fuel Price Hike

Kulman Ghising, chairman of the Ujyaalo Nepal Party, has urged the government to roll back the recent increase in petroleum prices.

Speaking at a press conference held in Birendranagar during a provincial-level organizational program in Karnali, Ghising said that fuel price hikes place an additional burden on people living in geographically remote regions like Karnali.

He emphasized that the government should provide special subsidies on diesel, petrol, and gas to ease transportation and promote tourism in the region. “Karnali is already an expensive region due to its geography, and rising fuel prices only make life harder,” he stated.

Referring to stable fuel prices in neighboring India, Ghising called on the government to reduce the burden of price hikes on citizens.

He also mentioned that his party is willing to support the government in creating a conducive working environment and highlighted previous commitments made toward electrification and transmission line expansion in Karnali. According to him, the 132 kV transmission line project is progressing up to Jumla.

Ghising acknowledged past electoral setbacks due to organizational challenges but expressed confidence that the party will emerge stronger in upcoming elections with expanded grassroots presence.
