Kumari Bank Limited has contributed Rs30 million to the Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund under its corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme to support relief, rescue and rehabilitation efforts following recent floods and natural disasters across Nepal.

The bank has also provided equipment worth around Rs3.9 million to the Nepal Army camp in Nuwakot to strengthen search, rescue and monitoring operations in disaster-affected areas.

The equipment includes five advanced GPS-fitted surveillance drones, three 5 KVA portable generators and 100 power banks. The support is intended to improve the capacity of rescue teams working in areas affected by the recent disasters.

Recent floods and other disasters have severely affected districts including Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, Gorkha and Chitwan, causing loss of life, displacement and damage to property and infrastructure.

Kumari Bank said its support has been provided in coordination with the Government of Nepal and will help deliver relief materials, food, temporary shelter and other humanitarian assistance to affected families.

The bank said it has consistently supported communities through its social responsibility initiatives during disasters and humanitarian crises.

Kumari Bank expressed confidence that its financial contribution and emergency equipment would help strengthen ongoing rescue, relief and rehabilitation efforts in the affected areas.

The bank also urged concerned authorities to further strengthen disaster response and rescue operations, while wishing for the speedy recovery of those injured and the safe rescue of people who remain missing.
