Machhapuchchhre Bank Invites Sealed Bids to Auction Loan Defaulters’ Collateral

Machhapuchchhre Bank Limited’s New Baneshwor Branch has invited sealed bids for the public auction of movable and immovable assets pledged as collateral by borrowers who have failed to repay their loans. The notice was published on October 12, 2026 (Ashoj 26, 2083).

Interested individuals and institutions must submit completed sealed-bid forms to the branch within 21 days of the notice’s publication. The bank has scheduled the opening of sealed bids for the 22nd day after publication at the designated branch premises.

The auction follows an earlier 35-day public notice demanding repayment, published in the national daily Aarthik Abhiyan on December 17, 2023. As the outstanding liabilities remain unpaid, the bank is proceeding with the collateral auction to recover non-performing loans.

According to the notice, borrowers, proprietors, partners and company directors may face blacklisting by the Credit Information Bureau (CIB) in accordance with Nepal Rastra Bank guidelines.

The bank has also stated that if the auction proceeds are insufficient to cover the total outstanding debt, it reserves the right to pursue further legal recovery from other personal or institutional assets under prevailing banking laws.
