Manakamana Cable Car service has been disrupted after a road inside the cable car’s entrance area in Ichchhakamana Rural Municipality-4, Chitwan, sank amid continuous rainfall.

The surrounding area was damaged on Sunday as the water level and flow of the Trishuli River increased.

According to ward chair Rudra Upreti, the river changed its course and repeatedly struck the suspension bridge connecting Shahid Lakhan-3 in Gorkha with Silingtार. The impact reportedly caused cracks in the main highway and damage to the inner road leading to the cable car entrance.

The continued flow of the river against the bridge has made the surrounding area more vulnerable, affecting the operation of the Manakamana Cable Car.
