Mandu Hydropower's Profit Jumps 415% After Power Generation Resumes, EPS Reaches Rs. 23.36
Mandu Hydropower posted a 414.79% surge in net profit to Rs. 318.5 million in FY 2025/26 Q4 after restoring its flood-damaged hydropower plant.

Mandu Hydropower Limited has reported a sharp improvement in its unaudited fourth-quarter financial results for FY 2025/26 (2082/83), driven by the resumption of electricity generation following flood recovery and capacity expansion.
The company posted a net profit of Rs. 318.5 million, representing a 414.79% increase compared to Rs. 61.8 million earned during the same period last year.
According to the company, the strong growth was primarily driven by the successful reconstruction of its 22 MW hydropower project, which had been damaged by flooding, along with the addition of 10 MW of new capacity. The plant is now operating at a total installed capacity of 32 MW, significantly boosting electricity sales.
Electricity sales revenue climbed 288.26% year-on-year to Rs. 794.9 million. Operating and maintenance expenses increased to Rs. 61.4 million following the expansion, while financial costs rose to Rs. 194.1 million from Rs. 161.8 million a year earlier.
The company has a paid-up capital of Rs. 1.363 billion, while retained earnings and reserves increased to Rs. 686.8 million, reflecting an annual growth of nearly 86%.
Mandu Hydropower's earnings per share (EPS) improved significantly to Rs. 23.36, up by Rs. 18.82 from the previous year. Its net worth per share also increased to Rs. 162.88, compared to Rs. 139.55 a year ago.
Management stated that the completion of reconstruction works and the commissioning of the additional 10 MW capacity have strengthened the company's long-term revenue outlook. The company has also proposed a 10% bonus share distribution from retained earnings of FY 2024/25 (2081/82), subject to approval at the upcoming annual general meeting.
