Mato Nepal Launches Commercial Guava Farming Program with 100% Buy-Back Guarantee

Mato Nepal has unveiled a commercial guava farming program aimed at transforming Nepal's barren and underutilized fertile land into productive agricultural farms. The company is offering quality guava saplings, technical assistance, and a 100% buy-back guarantee to provide farmers and landowners with a sustainable source of long-term income.

The initiative has been introduced under the leadership of industrialist and agribusiness entrepreneur Pawan Kumar Golyan, who has long been involved in Nepal's agricultural sector. Golyan stated that the primary objective is to eliminate farmers' concerns about finding a market by guaranteeing the purchase of all produce.

According to the company, thousands of ropanis of fertile land across Nepal remain either barren or underutilized. By adopting modern farming techniques and commercial orchard management, the program aims to increase agricultural production, create employment opportunities, improve farmers' incomes, and strengthen the rural economy.

Under the program, Mato Nepal will provide high-quality guava saplings, establish orchards using scientific methods, assist with drip irrigation installation, offer technical training and advisory services throughout cultivation, and manage the complete marketing of harvested produce.

The company's financial projection estimates that around 1,040 guava plants can be planted on one bigha of land. An initial investment of approximately Rs. 379,650 is expected during the first year for orchard establishment, drip irrigation, and supporting infrastructure.

Production is expected to begin from the second year. The company projects that the second year will generate around 5,000 kilograms of guavas, producing sales of Rs. 250,000 and an estimated profit of Rs. 116,200. By the third year, production is expected to reach 20,000 kilograms, generating Rs. 1 million in sales and Rs. 594,200 in profit. The fourth year is projected to produce 30,000 kilograms, generating Rs. 1.5 million in revenue and Rs. 886,500 in profit, while the fifth year could yield 50,000 kilograms, resulting in Rs. 2.5 million in sales and an estimated Rs. 1.5 million profit.

Overall, Mato Nepal estimates that one bigha of land could generate guava sales worth Rs. 5.25 million over five years, with a total investment of around Rs. 2.53 million and an estimated net profit of approximately Rs. 3.1 million.

The company clarified that these financial projections are estimates based on proper farm management, weather conditions, and expected productivity, and actual returns may vary.

Golyan said the initiative is not only intended to promote commercial guava farming but also to ensure that no fertile land in Nepal remains unused and that farmers have a guaranteed market for their produce. Interested farmers and landowners have been encouraged to contact Mato Nepal for further information.
