Miteri Development Bank Posts 9% Profit Growth as Net Interest Income Jumps 50%
Miteri Development Bank reported an 8.98% rise in annual net profit, supported by a strong 50% increase in net interest income and improved lending performance.

Miteri Development Bank Limited has published its unaudited fourth-quarter financial results for FY 2024/25, reporting an 8.98% increase in net profit to Rs. 141.2 million, compared to Rs. 129.6 million in the previous fiscal year.
The bank's earnings were driven primarily by a 50.26% surge in net interest income, which reached Rs. 307.4 million during the review period. Operating income also increased by 13.15% to Rs. 350.9 million, while operating profit rose 8.63% to Rs. 201.7 million.
Asset quality remained strong, with the non-performing loan (NPL) ratio improving to 0.26%. Deposits grew 36.07% year-on-year to Rs. 8.85 billion, while loans and advances increased 29.25% to Rs. 6.69 billion, reflecting steady business expansion.
The bank reported distributable profit of Rs. 154.9 million and distributable earnings per share of Rs. 12.73. Basic EPS improved to Rs. 11.60, while net worth per share stood at Rs. 143.20. Meanwhile, the base rate declined to 5.98%, and the credit-to-deposit ratio improved to 81.39%, indicating a stronger liquidity position.
