MP Arjun Narsingh KC Urges Government to Publish NHRC Report
Nepali Congress lawmaker Arjun Narsingh KC has called on the government to immediately publish the National Human Rights Commission's report and act on its recommendations.

Nepali Congress Member of Parliament Arjun Narsingh KC has urged the government to immediately make public the report of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), stressing that ignoring the commission's findings undermines Nepal's constitutional institutions and international commitments.
Speaking during the zero hour of Thursday's House of Representatives meeting, KC said the NHRC is not only a constitutional body but also an important institution linked to the global human rights system. He stated that the commission works closely with the United Nations and international human rights organizations to inform the global community about Nepal's human rights situation.
KC argued that disregarding the commission's reports and recommendations is not merely a matter of undervaluing the NHRC but also raises serious questions about Nepal's international credibility, commitment to human rights, the rule of law, and democratic governance.
Referring to the commission's chairperson, KC noted that only around 13 percent of the commission's recommendations have been implemented so far. He also expressed concern that the report prepared by NHRC member Lili Thapa has yet to be made public.
The lawmaker urged the government to release the report without delay, distribute it to lawmakers, and initiate necessary legal action based on its findings.
