MP Indira Rana Magar Calls for Reversal of Decision to Dissolve National Child Rights Council

Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) lawmaker Indira Rana Magar has strongly objected to the decision to dissolve the National Child Rights Council and has called on the government to immediately reverse it.

Speaking during Thursday’s session of the House of Representatives, she said the decision—reportedly taken by the previous government—requires serious reconsideration.

She emphasized that child rights, welfare, and protection are highly sensitive issues, and dissolving such an institution without establishing a clear and effective alternative structure is inappropriate.

MP Rana Magar urged the government to treat child protection matters with seriousness and stressed that the decision should not be implemented unless a proper alternative mechanism is ensured.
