Nabil Bank Denies Allegations of Leaking Banking Details Linked to Sudan Gurung

Nabil Bank has firmly rejected allegations that it leaked confidential banking information related to former Home Minister Sudan Gurung.

The bank stated that recent claims circulating on social media and in certain media outlets are baseless, misleading, and lack evidence. It expressed serious concern over what it described as a deliberate attempt to spread misinformation.

According to the bank, the information referenced in a report published by Kantipur Daily was sourced from investigative authorities, not from any internal breach of the bank’s system.

Nabil Bank emphasized that customer data is strictly confidential and is only shared with the customer, authorized representatives, or regulatory and investigative bodies following due legal procedures.

The bank further stated that its core banking system maintains detailed logs of all data access, including who accessed the information, when, and for what purpose, ensuring full accountability and security.

Reaffirming its commitment to banking ethics, the bank highlighted that customer privacy remains a fundamental principle and that there is zero tolerance for breaches.

Additionally, the bank warned that legal action will be taken under applicable laws, including the Electronic Transactions Act 2063, against individuals or entities spreading false information.
