The Nepal Automobile Importers and Manufacturers Association (NAIMA) has decided to contribute Rs5 million to the Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund to support relief and rehabilitation efforts following the devastating Bhotekoshi River flood in Rasuwa.

The association expressed condolences to the families who lost their loved ones in the disaster and wished those injured a speedy recovery.

NAIMA said companies within its membership have already been supporting rescue and relief operations through financial contributions, transportation, logistics and other forms of assistance. The latest contribution is intended to strengthen ongoing government-led relief and rehabilitation efforts in the flood-affected communities.

NAIMA President Ritu Singh Vaidya said disaster response is a shared responsibility of the private sector, emphasising the need for continued cooperation between the government, businesses and local communities during emergencies.

The association also acknowledged the efforts of government agencies, security personnel, health workers, rescue teams, volunteers and local communities involved in search, rescue and relief operations following the Rasuwa flood.

NAIMA has urged businesses and stakeholders across the automobile and mobility sector to extend support according to their capacity and contribute to the recovery of affected communities.

The contribution comes as relief and rehabilitation efforts continue in Rasuwa, where the Bhotekoshi flood caused significant loss of life and damage to homes, infrastructure and local communities.
