Nepal Army Rescues Six People by Helicopter, Deploys Composite Quick Reaction Team

The Nepal Army has deployed rescue teams to areas affected by a sudden flood in the Budhi Gandaki River in Chumanubri, Gorkha district. The incident occurred at around 4:30 AM on Sunday after the Budhi Gandaki River, which had been blocked by a landslide in Philim, Chumanubri Rural Municipality-3, suddenly burst through the blockage, sending a powerful flow of mud and debris into riverside areas.

Following reports of flood damage, Nepal Army personnel were mobilized to the affected locations by air and land to conduct rescue and search operations.

According to the Army's Directorate of Public Relations and Information, the rescue team assessed the situation in the affected area and safely evacuated six local residents by helicopter from Jagat village in Chumanubri, where the risk of further landslides was high.

The Army's Composite Quick Reaction Team has also been deployed to the affected area by air from Kathmandu. The team is continuing its response efforts while informing residents of riverside settlements and other vulnerable areas about the need to move to safer locations and remain highly alert.

The Army is using public announcements through loudspeakers to warn residents about potential risks and encourage them to follow safety instructions as rescue and search operations continue.
